We are looking for a harpsichordist to accompany a workshop with soprano Simone Kermes in Görlitz between November 16th and 20th, 2022
The cultural society Ars Augusta e.V. has been organizing concerts and workshops for early music for five years. In November 2022 a workshop for baroque singers will take place in Görlitz. The lecturer is the world-famous soprano Simone Kermes. For this project we are looking for a harpsichordist to accompany the workshop.
Tasks
- Accompaniment of the class of Mrs. Simone Kermes for a program of 8-12 arias from the repertoire of baroque opera and oratorio (period: 16.-18.11.).
- Participation as a harpsichordist in the concert (or two concerts) of the singers with the Lausitzer Barockensemble (19.-20.11).
This is how we immagine our future colleague:
- Professional harpsichordist or pianist (graduate or advanced study of the instrument). An in-depth study of early music is desired, but not mandatory.
- Experience in accompanying singers. Possible experience in leading operatic projects (conducting) is welcome but not mandatory.
- Love of opera, singing, baroque music.
"Lateral entrants" who imagine a future as a répétiteur, ensemble leader or conductor of opera projects are also very welcome.
What we offer
- Overnight stay in Görlitz in the period 12.-20. November.
- Fee 500€ - if you participate as a harpsichordist in the concerts: 700€
- Certificate of participation and free audio and video material of the concerts.

- Artistic curriculum vitae (studies, workshops, eventual professional experience)
- Two demos (link to a YouTube or Vimeo film or audio) demonstrating the performance as an accompaniment for singers, especially for early music.
