In 2019 Dresden celebrated the 300th anniversary of the famous planetary festivals (Planetenfeste), organized by August the Strong for the wedding of his son August Friedrich II with Maria Josepha von Habsburg in year 1719. The festival at that time was dedicated to the Greek gods and opened with Antonio Lotti's opera "Giove in Argo", dedicated to the god Jupiter. This "pastoral melodrama" opened also the Opera of Dresden.
The manuscript of Lotti's opera exists in the Saxon State and University Library in Dresden. The Ars-Augusta Association prepared a score of it and, with the participation of the Lausitz Baroque Ensemble under the direction of Enrique Gomez-Cabrero Fernandez and a bouquet of talented young singers from all over Europe, presented the opera as the first performance in modern times in the neo-baroque theater of Bad Salzbrunn.
The event was repeated the next year (2020) in the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater in Görlitz.
