HOMAGE TO
BOLKO VON HOCHBERG
EUROPEAN SHARING HERITAGE YEAR 2018
Bolko von Hochberg, one of the most important personalities of the Silesian cultural area, is not well known in our region. Not only was he the initiator of the then very famous Silesian Music Festival, for which he built the town hall in Görlitz. He was also a talented theater director (Königliches Schauspielhaus in Berlin) and composer. He has composed several symphonies, piano concertos, quartets and trios and numerous songs.
The first major project of the Ars Augusta eV association was dedicated to this Silesian (Fürstenstein Castle, Waldenburg 1843 - Bad Salzbrunn 1926). The music was selected and performed in three different concerts (Schloss Fürstenstein, Görlitz and Bad Salzbrunn). A sound recording was made and a brochure + CD was published.
