CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION FOR THE PAINTING COMPETITION:
The Toy Museum in Karpacz in the Giant Mountains and the Görlitz Association Ars Augusta eV present the results of the 1st Polish-German poetry and painting competition under the title "Inspired by the common heritage" in the Görlitz district office. This is the result of a joint project within the framework of the Interreg Poland-Saxony program by the Euroregion Neisse.
This extraordinary project with the unique character aims to promote today's cultural identity in the Polish-German-Czech border area.
In its first phase, the project comprised the exhibition of paintings by Teresa Kępowicz and poems by Anna Kadłubowska Pilich, inspired by the former settlement of Budniki in the Giant Mountains (Forst Langwasser), which today is barely recognizable in the landscape. These works then inspired young people from Poland and Germany to present their understanding of identity. It was not limited to a certain place or a certain matter, but rather it was about stimulating today's identification, which results from our common history.
As part of the project, there was also a singing workshop on the topic of composers from the border area, with the participation of young singers from Poland and Germany.
Thanks to the commitment of Mr. Berd Lange, the chairman of the German side of the Euroregion Neisse, and Mr. President Piotr Roman, the chairman of the Polish side of the Euroregion, the exhibition of the works of Teresa Kepowicz will open in the district office in Görlitz from November 22nd.
The award ceremony is accompanied by the exhibition with pictures and literary works by the children.
Unfortunately, in view of the regulation for the pandemic in Saxony, the planned opening at 3.30 p.m. cannot take place. The prices for the children will be announced soon awarded.

The Municipal Toy Museum from the collection of Henryk Tomaszewski in Karpacz in cooperation with the Ars Augusta association in Görlitz, organizes a poetry and painting competition aimed at children up to 14 years old.
The overarching goal of the project is to intensify the institutional and partnership cooperation between citizens and institutions for the common cultural heritage.
The aim of the German-Polish competition is to support the upbringing of children with a European sense of community, to familiarize them with culture and art, to develop an interest in the history of the Giant Mountains, creative thinking and artistic skills.
The competition is open to primary school students from the districts of Zgorzelec, Lubań, Lwówek Śląski, the Giant Mountains and the city of Jelenia Góra as well as to students from the districts of Görlitz, Zittau, Bautzen and Löbau in Germany.
The competition is held in two age groups:
for Polish and German children: 11-12 years, 13-14 years.
Project description:
The project is based on the implementation of a painting and poetry competition as well as singing workshops that are inspired by works from the common cultural heritage of the German-Polish border region. The painting and poetry competition is aimed at elementary schools on both sides of the border. A presentation of poetry and painting in Poland and Germany as well as a catalog in printed and electronic form are being prepared. To complement the level of cultural heritage with musical values, two-day singing workshops are organized with participants from Poland and Germany. There will be a presentation of the results of the vocal workshop to the public.
